On December 7, four international students from the Faculty of International Media, Communication University of China, started a cultural tour in Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, to explore the cultural heritage and natural scenery of the city.

The first stop, Meibei Village, is renowned as “the first village of Luling culture.” With its unique charm, the ancient village attracted international students with its greenstone-paved alleys, winding paths, tranquil and elegant courtyards, and well-preserved ancient buildings. Malaysian student Lee Ho Yan commented that the ancient village is both special and charming. Fernandez Del Castillo Velasco Mercedes, a Mexican student, exclaimed that the ancient village is filled with historical atmosphere, and she had never seen such a well-preserved place before.

When the international students came to Luofu Reservoir, which is surrounded by mountains and water, their spirits remained high despite the cold and rainy weather. The rippling water, fresh air and tranquil environment allowed them to feel the beauty of nature. Yangie Deborah Sesay, a student from Sierra Leone, expressed her fondness for the peace and quiet here, and thought that China is very protective of the environment.

“This is so cute!” At the Jizhou Kiln Museum, Malaysian student Lee Ho Yan was excited to share her “new discovery” - a celadon glazed head of foreigner figure from the Song Dynasty, an exhibit from Yaozhou Kiln. Inside the museum, the international students not only enjoyed viewing the thousand-year-old ceramic artifacts up close but also gained a deeper understanding of the historical narratives and cultural significance behind them. In addition, through the experience of ceramic making, the international students were able to feel the charm of traditional Chinese ceramics and appreciated the principle of “meticulous work produces fine results.”
The two-day event, jointly organized by Ji'an College and Jinggangshan Applied Science and Technology School, not only provided the international students with a feast of beautiful scenery, cultural charm and historical depth of Ji'an, but also presented an opportunity for more foreign friends to engage with and understand traditional Chinese culture, thereby promoting the cultural exchange and integration between China and foreign countries. The international students all expressed that this exchange activity was both the beginning and continuation of their exploration of Chinese culture, and they eagerly anticipated coming to Ji'an and Jiangxi again in the future!
