International Students Fall in Love with Traditional Chinese Medicine

On November 27th, the Jingdezhen Health Commission, in collaboration with the Jingdezhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, organized a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) culture dissemination event with the theme of "Spread the Culture of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Appreciate Its Charm" at the International College of Jingdezhen Ceramic University. This event aimed to introduce TCM culture to international students and showcase its charm.

Nurses introduced the efficacy of TCM tea drinks to the international students and conducted a live tasting session of these tea drinks

The event site featured multiple interactive experience sessions, including ear seed pressing, meridian combing, scraping, dragon fire jar therapy, hot moxibustion, massage, and thermal-sensitive moxibustion, among other suitable TCM techniques. These activities attracted enthusiastic participation from international students. One-on-one consultations with TCM experts at the scene allowed international students to gain a deeper understanding of corresponding health preservation advice. Additionally, the event site had exhibition areas for Chinese herbal medicine and health preservation, tasting areas for Chinese herbal tea, DIY production areas for Chinese herbal medicine sachets, and instructional demonstration areas for Baduanjin, a type of TCM exercise. These sessions not only demonstrated the unique charm of TCM but also allowed international students to learn about TCM knowledge in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere through interactive activities such as making sachets and learning Baduanjin.

Tu Jun, an international student from Madagascar, expressed that this was his first time experiencing TCM culture, and he was very interested in learning about the materials and effects of Chinese herbs, as well as feeling the charm of traditional Chinese TCM culture. Yong Li, an international student from Morocco, said she tasted the Chinese herbal tea, which was delicious, and the experience of practicing Baduanjin was also fantastic, and she felt very relaxed after exercising.
