On June 23, the Award Ceremony of the 3rd Image Possibilities Coproduction Plan Selected Products & "This Is Shanghai" Global Short Video Collection Initiative was held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center as part of the 31st Shanghai TV Festival.

New Aspirations Cross Oceans, a news documentary series produced by the Jiangxi International Communication Center (JXICC), stood out among 13,612 submissions from 46 countries and regions and was selected for this national-level program.

The event, one of the key programs of the 31st Shanghai TV Festival, was guided by the State Council Information Office of China, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the National Radio and Television Administration of China. It was jointly organized by the China International Communications Group (CICG), the Film, Drama and Documentary Programming Center at China Media Group CCTV-9, Shanghai Media Group (SMG) and Discovery Channel. The program aims to solicit outstanding audiovisual works from around the world that reflect China's modernization drive and promote mutual learning among civilizations. Only 160 projects were selected for this year's program.

The New Aspirations Cross Oceans series focuses on people-to-people friendship stories between China and New Zealand, using intimate and compelling narratives to convey the warmth of a great era.

The series has run for two consecutive seasons. Following its award in the "Cultural China" section of the Short Video Unit at the 15th Beijing International Film Festival, its selection for the program marks another national-level recognition.

The series has been translated and dubbed into multiple languages, including English, Spanish and Korean, and has been featured by more than 940 mainstream media outlets worldwide, including the Associated Press, Yahoo, FOX Television Stations and the UK's Daily Star, significantly enhancing the global reach of Chinese stories.
